Registered Mail

Extra security and proof of receipt for your important letters and parcels.

About this service

Registered mail gives senders and recipients extra peace of mind for important items. Every registered item is handled with added care and released only once the recipient signs for it, so there's confirmation it reached the right hands.

Receiving a registered letter

  1. When a letter is mailed to you as registered mail, we hold it safely at our office and leave a notice slip in your mailbox or P.O. Box letting you know it has arrived.
  2. Bring the notice slip, if you have it, along with a valid ID to our office.
  3. We hand you the letter and you sign for it, confirming receipt.

Can someone else pick it up for me?

Yes. If you can't collect the letter yourself, someone else can pick it up on your behalf as long as you authorize them to do so. They'll need to bring their own valid ID along with your authorization.

Receiving a registered parcel

If your registered item is a parcel rather than a letter, it follows the same process as our regular parcel service, notification, customs clearance by email, then pickup. See Receive Parcels for the full process.

Unclaimed registered letters

If a registered letter isn't collected within 1 month of the notice, it will be returned to sender.
